Abstract: AN ACTIVE GRILLE SHUTTER SYSTEM An active grille shutter system (100) comprises a frame (10), at least one vane (20), an actuator (30) and a vane-breakage detection module (40). The vane (20) comprises pins (22) and is rotatably supported between within the frame (10). The vane (20) is adapted to move between a blocking configuration and unblocking configuration when driven by the actuator (30). The vane-breakage detection module (40) adapted to detect and indicate vane failure on a vehicle dashboard or On Board Diagnostic (OBD) system (70) based on calibration of the operating torque exerted by the actuator (30). The vane-breakage detection module (70) comprises resilient element arranged between the frame (10) and the vane (20) in assembled configuration thereof and adapted to be elastically deformed to eject a portion of the vane (20) away from the actuator (30) when the vane (20) breaks into parts to change the operating torque.
