Abstract: ABSTRACT An additively manufactured helical Savonius wind turbine system (100) for generating electrical power under low wind speed conditions is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a helical Savonius rotor (101), a central shaft (102), a bearing assembly (103), a structural support frame (104), a gear transmission system (105), an electrical generator (106), and an electrical rectification/load system (107). The helical Savonius rotor (101) is additively manufactured using polylactic acid (PLA) material to provide a lightweight rotor with reduced rotational inertia. Wind-induced rotation of the helical Savonius rotor (101) is transmitted through the central shaft (102) and the gear transmission system (105) to drive the electrical generator (106), which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The generated electrical energy is supplied to the electrical rectification/load system (107) for utilization or storage. The integrated arrangement enables self-starting operation, smoother torque generation, and efficient electrical power generation under low wind speed conditions suitable for distributed renewable energy applications.
