Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based system for autonomous indoor hazard detection, environmental assessment, and cleaning of enclosed spaces prior to human occupancy. Buildings such as educational institutions, hospitals, industrial facilities, warehouses, laboratories, commercial complexes, and government offices that remain unoccupied for prolonged periods are susceptible to the accumulation of dust, airborne particulate matter, hazardous gases, microorganisms, and the unexpected presence of animals, thereby posing significant health and safety risks during re-entry. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 99% of the global population breathes air that exceeds recommended air quality guidelines, contributing to nearly 7 million premature deaths annually, while the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) reports that individuals spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, where pollutant concentrations may become 2–5 times higher than outdoor levels and, under poorly ventilated conditions, may increase to nearly 100 times higher, emphasizing the necessity for comprehensive indoor environmental assessment before occupancy. Conventional inspection systems generally perform isolated tasks such as visual inspection, gas sensing, or cleaning, requiring multiple devices and significant human intervention. To overcome these limitations, the present invention proposes a modular intelligent drone attachment incorporating a 360-degree rotatable camera module, environmental sensing module, distance measurement module, non-lethal ultrasonic animal deterrence mechanism, telescopic cleaning assembly, rotary brush, vacuum-based dust collection unit, and an intelligent control system that autonomously performs visual inspection, hazardous animal detection and safe evacuation, environmental monitoring, adaptive cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, ceiling fans, and ventilation structures, followed by environmental reassessment and occupancy readiness evaluation. The system further transmits real-time inspection data and environmental reports to a remote monitoring device, thereby reducing human exposure to hazardous environments while improving inspection efficiency, operational safety, and maintenance effectiveness.
