MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611108565 A) filed by Uttaranchal University on September 10, 2026, for An Ai-Enabled Multimodal Mental Health Assessment System Using Vision Analytics And Questionnaire-Based Behavioral Analysis.

Inventors include Monika Singh; Kartikey Gaur; and Rahul Mahala.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An AI-enabled multimodal mental health assessment system and method are disclosed for real-time psychological evaluation and prediction. The system comprises a smart vision-based assessment device having a Raspberry Pi controller (110) connected to an RGB camera (200), a GPS module (130), a Real-Time Clock module (150), an onboard Wi-Fi modem (140), and a display screen, alongside a questionnaire-based web interface (300) featuring a computing unit (310), touchscreen input (330), display screen (350), and question engine (320). Both devices are powered by independent solar panel (160, 360) and rechargeable battery (170, 370) power management systems for off-grid deployment. Facial expression images and touchscreen questionnaire responses are transmitted wirelessly to a cloud server (500) for pre-processing, including noise removal, facial feature extraction, and response normalization. A pre-trained machine learning model performs feature fusion using deep learning or hybrid AI architectures to calculate a mental health prediction (600) comprising stress, anxiety, depression risk, and emotional stability scores, which are transmitted to the display screen in real-time, while automatically triggering emergency alerts to healthcare providers upon detecting critical mental health conditions.
