Abstract: The present invention relates to a zero-power autonomous detection system for static contaminant recovery in aquatic environments. The system comprises a rigid flotation collar integrated with an oleophilic static capture matrix. The mass increase that results from the matrix becoming saturated with accumulated hydrocarbons or microplastics exceeds a preset gravimetric threshold, float collar to exhibit an angular movement due to the modification, which mechanically connects it to a sensitive pressure sensor. An instant weak location message is sent to a main hub by this device. The novel approach improves data acquisition procedures by automatically signalling when the storage unit reaches its maximum load level, by using internal passive sensing mechanisms instead of external active detectors. The present system also enhances cost effectiveness and energy efficiency, which makes it suitable for widespread environmental implementation. This method offers a scalable solution to enhance aquatic pollution control system.
