MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611066189 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu on May 25, 2026, for An Artificial Intelligence (ai)-Assisted Mining Regulatory Intelligence System.
Inventors include M Gokulan; and Satyabrata Behera.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-assisted mining regulatory intelligence system (100) comprising a user interface (101), a query processing unit (102), a memory unit (103), and a response generation interface (104). The query processing unit (102) transforms natural language inputs into machine-readable formats and classifies them into predefined categories. A hybrid retrieval engine executes simultaneous semantic and keyword-based operations against an indexed mining knowledge repository of authoritative documents to generate a unified relevance-ranked dataset. This dataset is processed by an Artificial intelligence (AI) reasoning engine that correlates regulatory provisions with accident data and safety measures. A validation layer ensures traceability and prevents hallucinations by verifying outputs against the dataset. A controlled external retrieval module initiates when the repository data is not sufficient and segregated and explicitly identified data acquisition process. The system (100) delivers structured, compliance-aligned responses suitable for operational decision-making and examination preparation.
