Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for efficient detection of fake news using adaptive model selection through acquisition and preprocessing of multiple fake news datasets by removal of hyperlinks, advertisements, emojis, repeated characters, stop words, and lemmatization of textual data. The method comprises a Cross-Dataset Dynamic Weighting System that assigns adaptive weighted values based upon dataset size, linguistic diversity, and classification complexity for training machine learning models comprising Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, ensemble classifiers, and transformer-based models comprising BERT, RoBERTa, XLNet, and contextual language models. An Explainability-First Model Selection process evaluates prediction accuracy and interpretability through SHAP value and feature attribution analysis. A Hybrid Routing Architecture directs simple textual content toward lightweight models and complex content toward transformer-based models. The method further identifies suspicious textual segments, displays confidence values through a frontend interface, stores prediction labels, timestamps, and feedback data within a database layer, and identifies recurring misinformation structures through a News Pattern Memory Graph for continuous model improvement.
