Abstract: ABSTRACT [0020] In academic institutions, managing attendance and ensuring punctuality are vital for maintaining discipline, enhancing academic accountability, and optimizing institutional efficiency. Traditional attendance methods such as manual roll calls, biometric scans, and RFID systems are often time-consuming, error- prone, or vulnerable to proxy manipulation. This project proposes a smart, contactless, and automated solution through an Automated Punctuality Analysis System based on real-time facial recognition technology. The system captures live video feeds, detects and recognizes faces using deep learning-based models, and logs entry and exit times automatically. It further validates these timestamps against predefined schedules to classify attendance behavior as On-time, Late, or Early Exit. Built using Python, Flask, OpenCV, and the face_recognition library, the platform includes a web-based dashboard for administrators, faculty, and students to view punctuality metrics and export detailed reports.The solution enhances operational transparency, eliminates human error, and significantly reduces the administrative burden. By integrating face recognition with punctuality analytics and centralized reporting, this system represents a step forward in creating smart, AI-driven educational environments that emphasize discipline, automation, and data integrity.
