Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: AN AUTOMATIC CAMBER ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM FOR REAL-TIME MONITORING AND ADJUSTING THE CAMBER IN AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLES An automatic camber adjustment mechanism (100; 200; 300) for real-time monitoring and adjusting the camber (Ø) in automotive vehicles, said automatic camber adjustment mechanism (100; 200; 300) comprises: wheel-rim (70; 170; 270) fitted with a knuckle (60; 160; 260) connected to suspension system (50) on front wheels; a belt/chain system (30; 130; 230) connected to said knuckle; pulley/sprocket (40, 45; 140; 240) to carry and move chain/belt system thereon; reversible-motor/actuator (10; 110; 210) connected to one end of belt/chain; wherein said reversible motor/actuator is controlled by a controller (C) based on signals received from sensors (S1, S2) mounted on the wheel arch above wheel-rim to constantly measure tyre-wear; and LDVTs coupled to suspension system analyze the load acting on the wheel-rim during dynamic conditions thereof and automatically adjust the camber angle (Ø) in real-time to optimize for current driving conditions to enhance the service-life of tyres fitted on wheel-rim.
