Abstract: The present invention discloses an earring back (100, 200) for earrings comprising a housing member (110, 210), a gripping member (120, 220) located within the housing member (110, 210) and a closure member (130, 230). An earring post (105, 205) with two recessed grooves (106a, 206a, 106b, 206b) is secured within said housing member (110, 210) and further retained through at least a radial surface of said gripping member (120, 220) and said closure member (130, 230), thereby forming a friction-based locking of said earring post (105, 205) and retention of the earrings (102, 202).
