Abstract: ABSTRACT AN ECO-FRIENDLY CONCRETE COMPOSITION UTILIZING WASTE AS SUBSTITUTE AND A METHOD THEREOF The present invention relates to an eco-friendly concrete composition incorporating Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) waste as a partial replacement for natural fine aggregate in concrete production. More particularly, the invention provides a sustainable construction material capable of reducing plastic waste accumulation and minimizing excessive consumption of natural sand resources. The invention includes a controlled proportioning of shredded PET particles with cement, coarse aggregate, water, and fine aggregate to obtain concrete having acceptable workability, compressive strength, split tensile strength, durability, and reduced density. Experimental observations indicate that lower PET replacement levels, preferably around 5% to 10%, provide optimum balance between mechanical strength and environmental sustainability. The invention further provides a method for preparing the PET-modified concrete and its applications in paver blocks, partition walls, kerb stones, tiles, decorative elements, and lightweight precast construction products. The disclosed invention offers improved durability, reduced porosity, enhanced resistance to moisture and chemical attack, and environmentally sustainable utilization of plastic waste.
