MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611040513 A) filed by Galgotias University on March 31, 2026, for An Eight-Port Mimo Antenna With Ultra-Reduced Mutual Coupling For Multi-Band Wireless And Wearable Applications.
Inventors include Dr. Manish Sharma; and Dr. Anupam Baliyan.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a compact eight-port MIMO antenna designed for multi-band wireless communication applications including Bluetooth, Sub-6GHz, WLAN, and WiMAX. The antenna is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a unique plus-shaped configuration and incorporates multiple radiating elements arranged in mirrored orientation. A decoupling structure integrated with a common ground significantly reduces mutual coupling and enhances isolation between ports. The antenna achieves wide bandwidth, improved diversity performance, low envelope correlation coefficient, high diversity gain, and minimal channel capacity loss. Additionally, the design ensures safe operation for wearable applications with SAR values well below regulatory limits. The proposed antenna is suitable for high-performance, compact, and multi-functional wireless communication systems.
