MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641094887 A) filed by S. Mageshwaran; and P. Sundareswaran on August 05, 2026, for An Energy-Efficient Cluster Head Selection System For A Wireless Sensor Network.

Inventors include S. Mageshwaran; and P. Sundareswaran.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is an energy-efficient cluster head selection system (100) for a wireless sensor network that comprises a Wireless Sensor Node Network (102), a Base Station Unit (104), a Communication Interface (106), a Processing Unit (108), a Memory Unit (126), and a Power Management Unit (128). The Processing Unit (108) comprises a Data Acquisition Module (110), a Pre-processing Module (112), a Parameter Evaluation Module (114), an Optimization Module (116), a Cluster Management Module (118), a Routing Management Module (120), a Performance Analysis Module (122), and a Decision Management Module (124). The Optimization Module (116) determines optimal cluster heads using a Hybrid Sandpiper Competitive Swarm Optimization technique. The system establishes clusters, determines energy-efficient communication paths, evaluates network performance, and adaptively updates cluster head selection and routing, thereby reducing energy consumption, balancing network load, minimizing communication overhead, improving packet delivery performance, and extending network lifetime.
