Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an engine block (300) of an internal combustion (IC) engine. The engine block (300) includes a cylinder block (100) and a crankcase (200). The cylinder block (100) has a plurality of cylinder bores (101), each configured to receive a reciprocating piston. The crankcase (200) is securely coupled to the cylinder block (100). The crankcase (200) includes a crankshaft bore (203) adapted to circumscribe and support a crankshaft (400). The crankcase (200) includes a recessed portion (201b) formed on an outer surface (201a) of the crankcase (200) around the crankshaft bore (203). The recessed portion (201b) is adapted to receive a vibration-damping member (201c) to dampen the vibrations.
