Abstract: An enhanced transmucosal drug delivery device is disclosed for controlled administration of an active pharmaceutical ingredient across mucosal tissue. The layered construction directs drug movement toward the mucosa, regulates fluid ingress, improves residence time, and assists accurate placement. The device is adaptable for various therapeutic agents requiring localized or systemic transmucosal delivery.
