MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611071445 A) filed by Daimler Truck AG on June 09, 2026, for An Exhaust Aftertreatment System For A Vehicle, And A Method Thereof.

Inventor includes Vinayakkumar Savukar.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: A system and a method for exhaust aftertreatment of a vehicle are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a reservoir (102) to store a thermal fluid, at least one exhaust heat exchange member (104) in thermal communication with one or more exhaust aftertreatment devices (114), a thermal fluid circulation loop (106) configured to circulate the thermal fluid toward the exhaust aftertreatment devices (114), a return valve (108) configured to selectively route the thermal fluid back to the thermal fluid reservoir (102), and a plurality of temperature sensors (110) configured to detect temperatures of the thermal fluid reservoir (102) and the exhaust aftertreatment devices (114). A control unit (112) controls closed-loop (106) circulation of the thermal fluid between the thermal fluid reservoir (102) and the exhaust heat exchange member (104) to preheat and maintain the exhaust aftertreatment devices (114) at or above predefined temperature thresholds during cold start and post key-off conditions.
