MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641084513 A) filed by Sigb Private Limited on July 09, 2026, for An Implant For Regulating Autonomous Intraocular Pressure Through Self-Powered Sensing And Drainage Control.
Inventor includes Sivaranjani P.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: An implant (100) for autonomous intraocular pressure regulation through self-powered sensing and drainage control is disclosed. The implant comprises an energy harvesting unit including a thermoelectric generator (110) configured to harvest electrical energy responsive to a temperature gradient within ocular environment and an electromechanical transducer (120) configured to generate electrical energy responsive to physiological ocular motion. An energy storage element (135) stores and supplies the electrical energy. A pressure sensor (140) senses intraocular pressure and generates an analog signal. A first valve (155) selectively regulates intraocular fluid flow. A plurality of comparators actuate and deactivate the first valve based on comparison of analog signal with a pressure threshold value. A passive telemetry circuit communicates pressure information, valve status to a telemetry reader. An NFC coil (185) receives control information for adjusting pressure threshold value through a potentiometer (195). The system includes a timing- network actuated secondary valve for redundant pressure regulation. FIG. 1
