The formulation provides an initial therapeutic contribution followed by extended release through coordinated hydration, diffusion moderation, and controlled erosion. The dosage form is suitable for oral administration, conventional manufacture, improved patient compliance, and reduced fluctuation in analgesic exposure during a pain management interval.
