Abstract: Disclosed are an intelligent helmet system and corresponding method for automatic detection of road accidents and autonomous emergency-response notification. The helmet integrates an accelerometer and gyroscope for two-stage impact and orientation threshold detection, and a biometric heart-rate sensor for a confirmation interval that distinguishes genuine accidents from false-positive impacts, thereby minimising false alerts. Upon confirmation, a microcontroller unit retrieves the helmet's geographic coordinates via an integrated satellite-positioning module and automatically transmits the said coordinates together with an emergency notification to pre- stored emergency contacts via an integrated cellular communication module, while concurrently activating visual and audible indicators to alert nearby bystanders, all without requiring manual action by an incapacitated wearer. Further disclosed are integrated sub-systems for alcohol-impairment detection, optical drowsiness detection, anti-theft geo-tracking, and solar-supplemented battery charging, together with a companion mobile application for real-time monitoring and configuration. The invention is particularly applicable to two-wheeler riders and addresses the critical “golden hour” delay in emergency response following road accidents.
