MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641070997 A) filed by Ramco Institute Of Technology on June 08, 2026, for An Intelligent Iot Enabled Helmet System With Priority Based Multi Sensor Fusion For Proactive Rider Safety.
Inventors include Dr. K. Vijayalakshmi; Dr. M. Pandi; Vivek V; R. Balamurugan; and K. Bala Karthik.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent loT-enabled helmet system [101] with prioritybased multi-sensor fusion for proactive rider safety. The system comprises an alcohol detection module [102], a drowsiness detection module ll03J, an accident detection module (105], a GPS/GSM-based communication module [1 04], a cloud-based monitoring platform [21 0], and a centralized controller [105]. The controller [105] processes inputs from multiple sensors using a hierarchical decision logic [205], wherein alcohol detection [102] is assigned higher priority than drowsiness detection [103]. In contrast, accident detection [105] triggers automatic emergency nobbcatwn with location information [104]. Jhe system further incorporates a false-alarm verification mechanism to distinguish genuine accidents from nonaccident events [303], thereby reducing unnecessary alerts [207]. Real-time rider information • and safety events are transmitted to a cloud dashboard [21 0] for monitoring and fleet management [402]. The invention enhances two-wheeler safety through integrated sensing, intelligent decision-making, emergency communication [209], and remote monitoring [210], making it suitable for individual riders, commercial fleets, and smart transportation applications.
