MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611075201 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on June 17, 2026, for An Intelligent Limb-Specific Wearable Device For Continuous Assessment Of Muscle Performance And Rehabilitation Feedback.
Inventors include Dr. Hemant Kumar Pt; Dr. Pious Divya Pt; Vidhi; Shiv; and Yuvraj.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to wearable rehabilitation devices. Known wearables report only general physiological metrics and clinical EMG systems are confined to laboratories, leaving a gap in continuous limb-specific monitoring. The invention provides a smart wearable arm sleeve (10) of stretchable fabric carrying surface-EMG or textile muscle-activity sensors (20) and inertial motion sensors (30), a signal-conditioning and processing unit (40) that amplifies, filters and fuses muscle and motion data to determine muscle-activity level, detect localised fatigue and evaluate movement quality, a power module (50), a wireless interface (60) to an external device (80), and a user-feedback system (70) giving real-time visual, auditory or haptic feedback. The closed-loop device enables objective injury prevention, rehabilitation and exercise-therapy feedback for daily and remote use.
