Abstract: The present invention discloses an intelligent reinforcement learning-based adaptive routing system for energy-efficient wireless sensor networks. The system comprises multiple wireless sensor nodes, sink nodes, routing optimization modules, reinforcement learning engines, and energy management units configured to dynamically determine optimal communication paths based on network conditions. Each sensor node operates as an intelligent agent capable of learning adaptive routing policies using reinforcement learning algorithms including Q-learning and deep reinforcement learning techniques. The system evaluates network states such as residual energy, link quality, congestion level, queue occupancy, and communication delay to optimize packet forwarding decisions. The proposed invention improves network lifetime, packet delivery ratio, throughput, and fault tolerance while minimizing energy consumption and communication overhead. The invention is suitable for smart agriculture, industrial automation, healthcare monitoring, environmental sensing, smart cities, and IoT-enabled applications.
