MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110291 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for An Intelligent Self-Retracting Protective Seat And Energy Harvesting System For Two-Wheelers.
Inventors include Jagmeet Singh; Shaman Sharma; and Deepak Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent self-retracting solar seat-cover system for two-wheelers (100), integrating seat protection, automatic retraction, solar energy harvesting, and intelligent energy management. The system comprises a seat cover lock (101), thin solar lining (102), rectangular housing (103), spring-loaded cylindrical drum (104), and self-retracting space (105). The solar lining (102) incorporates flexible photovoltaic and protective layers configured to shield the seat from heat, UV radiation, dust, and rain while generating electrical energy during parking. The housing (103) accommodates a rechargeable battery, charge-control circuitry, USB charging port, and AI smart alert module. The spring-loaded cylindrical drum (104) automatically retracts the deployed cover after release. The AI module predicts energy generation based on parking duration and sunlight exposure, thereby optimizing energy utilization. The system provides convenient seat protection, renewable energy generation, device charging, and intelligent monitoring.
