Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent smart footwear system for monitoring foot-related parameters. The system comprises a footwear body, a removable sensorised insole incorporating plantar pressure sensors, a temperature sensor, and an inertial measurement unit, and an electronic control unit housed in an ankle- mounted enclosure. Flexible electrical interconnections and a detachable connector electrically couple the sensorised insole to the electronic control unit. The control unit comprises a microcontroller, a power supply, and a wireless communication module configured to acquire and process sensor signals and transmit corresponding monitoring data to a compatible external electronic device. The system facilitates the monitoring and assessment of plantar pressure, temperature, and motion-related parameters during use. The modular arrangement facilitates access to the sensorised insole for inspection, maintenance, or replacement. Optional energy-harvesting elements may be incorporated to supplement the power supply. The invention provides an integrated footwear-based sensing and electronic architecture for foot-related monitoring applications.
