MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531067382 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Kharagpur on July 15, 2025, for An Intensified Desublimation-Based Cryogenic Carbon Capture System Using Swirl Flow.
Inventors include Kurian, Emel V; and Sandilya, Pavitra.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention comprises a cyclone separator that helps in continuous separation of CO2 by desublimation. A CO2 containing gas mixture is passed through the separator which is kept at a low temperature to cause desublimation of CO2. In the present invention, a cryogenically cooled cyclone separator has been developed that can remove the dry ice continuously from the walls of separator thereby giving a continuous operation.
