MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011896 A) filed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on February 12, 2025, for An Iot & Lora Based System For Condition Based Monitoring Of Heavy Machinery.

Inventors include Deepak Sachan; Deepesh Agarwal; K V V Raju; N Satya Siva Kumar; Srinu Bhukya; and Ravinder Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present subject matter discloses an IoT & LoRa based system for condition based monitoring of heavy machinery. The system includes a plurality of field nodes, wherein at least one field node (1) for diesel generator (25) monitoring using energy meter (17) and at least one field node (2) for construction machines (26), by interfacing with sensor module (3). Field nodes (2) utilize various communication interfaces/ports (19, 20, 21), including CAN (32) to acquire performance metrics data. Said Data is transmitted via LoRaWAN module (11) to a gateway (4), then to a network server (7), and finally to an application server (5). The application server (5) performs AI/ML analysis on the data for predictive maintenance and health assessment. The system (100) incorporates edge processing within the field nodes (1, 2) and enables real-time monitoring, contributing to improved operational efficiency and reduced maintenance costs. (FIG. 2)
