The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-based end-to-end automated gas cylinder weight identification system for extracting stamped tare weight information from gas cylinders. The system comprises an image acquisition module configured to capture images of gas cylinders, a preprocessing module for image enhancement, a text detection module (104) for detecting stamped text regions, a geometry-driven orientation correction module (110) configured to independently rotate each detected text region based on its radial position without performing image rectification or perspective transformation, and a digit recognition module for recognizing alphanumeric characters. A single-frame spatial voting module (116) determines the final tare weight by validating multiple recognized text regions extracted from the same captured image. The system further includes an edge computing architecture employing containerized processing for real-time operation under ambient lighting conditions and an IoT communication module for displaying, storing, and transmitting the identified tare weight for inventory management, refill verification, safety inspection, and industrial traceability.
