MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641070936 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College on June 08, 2026, for An Iot Driven Ai Micro Fertilization System For Precision Soil Nutrient Optimization And Waste Free Agriculture.

Inventors include Dr. P. Kumar; Divyashree S; and Harini S.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: This invention is an AI-assisted loT-driven smart fertilizer dispensing system that will transform the agricultural sector by offering a precise, flexible, and data-oriented way of fertilizing plants. It merges loT-enabled soil analysis with AI-driven decision making to cater to farmers' needs in delivering fertilizers only in the right amount, at the right place and at the right time thus significantly reducing wastage pollution while increasing production. It includes a system of soil sensors that are placed in the farm to regularly take the measurements of major soil nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) pH ___ moisture_content,_and_temp_erature._T_h_e_s_e_data ar~_s_ent tQa c :ntral microcontroller unit that ~is'---furnished with an AI decision engine, which determines the level of nutrient deficiency and establishes the exact fertilizer dosage for each part of the field. According to these findings, the system operates micro-dosing actuators such as solenoid valves or micro-pumps that are able to dispense fertilizers via integrated irrigation channels or targeted delivery mechanisms. The scheme involves various functional modules like a Sensor Interface Unit, Decision Logic Unit, Communication Module, Actuator Control Unit, and Power Management System, which collectively bring about coordinated sensing, intelligent computation, and accurate implementation. Depending on the situation, the system uses loT connectivity protocols such as Wi-Fi, LoRa, or GSM for uninterrupted data transfers via field devices, the cloud platform, and the mobile dashboard, which make it possible to get real-time monitoring, notifications, and system configuration from anywhere. Besides cloud connection, the system conducts data analytics and machine learning-based optimization, which ensures that the system keeps learning from past data and consistently improving fertilizer application methods. What distinguishes this invention from any other existing product is its capability to learn and implement a closed-loop feedback system where the soil after fertilization is again analyzed for subsequent fertilizer application cycles. This is a sort of nutrient management that is both efficient and site-specific, which at the same time keeps the soil in good condition and the levels of productivity very high. This work not only forecasts a sustainable and intelligent agricultural industry but also compensates farmers for a scalable solution that can be modified to suit their particular settings, such as open fields and greenhouses.
