MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621061642 A) filed by Sleepaxa Private Limited on May 15, 2026, for An Ophthalmic Lens For Enhancing Chromatic Contrast Perception.

Inventor includes Dubey Surajkumar Arunkumar.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an ophthalmic lens for enhancing chromatic contrast perception through a controlled spectral transmission profile. The lens comprises a polymeric optical substrate and a plurality of absorptive spectral filtering materials distributed within the substrate to produce a predominantly absorptive and angle- stable optical response. The spectral transmission profile includes a single continuous attenuation zone located in a mid-visible spectral region, wherein transmittance decreases toward an attenuation minimum and increases on either side, with higher transmission at adjacent wavelengths. The lens further exhibits a luminance recovery region in a long-wavelength portion of the visible spectrum, thereby preserving brightness and long-wavelength visibility. The spectral behavior is achieved through a combined response of multiple chromophoric components without use of interference coatings. The lens is manufacturable using bulk polymer processing techniques and provides improved color discrimination while maintaining luminance balance and visual comfort for practical viewing conditions.
