MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631084085 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra on July 08, 2026, for An Rgo/Hydroxyapatite Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode For Selective Uric Acid Sensing.

Abstract: “AN rGO/HYDROXYAPATITE MODIFIED GLASSY CARBON ELECTRODE FOR SELECTIVE URIC ACID SENSING” Disclosed herein is a method for fabricating an rGO/HAp/GCE modified electrode (102) from graphite powder (104). The graphite powder (104) may be oxidized using concentrated sulphuric acid, sodium nitrate, and potassium permanganate to obtain GO sheets (106), which may be chemically reduced using L-ascorbic acid to yield rGO (108). The rGO (108) may be introduced into a HAp precursor at a doping concentration of from 0.05 wt% to 0.5 wt% and subjected to microwave-assisted hydrothermal synthesis to form an rGO/HAp nanocomposite (110). The nanocomposite (110) may be dispersed in an ethanol-water mixture to obtain a homogeneous coating dispersion (112), which may be drop-cast onto a cleaned GCE surface (114) to form a stable thin-film rGO/HAp/GCE modified electrode (102) demonstrating selective cyclic voltammetric detection of uric acid with a coefficient of determination of approximately 0.994 over a concentration range of from 50 µM to 500 µM.
