MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611058176 A) filed by Sharda University on May 07, 2026, for An Unmanned Underwater Vehicle With Asynchronous Edge-Computing Control System.
Inventors include Navya Sharma; Rajat Singhal; and Dr. Shivam Tiwari.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed herein an unmanned underwater vehicle (100) includes a watertight enclosure housing a single-board computer, a battery, and motor control electronics coupled to thrusters controlled by pulse-width modulation (PWM) signals. In some embodiments, the vehicle implements an asynchronous control architecture in which a first thread executes a motor control loop at about 100 Hz to generate PWM signals from joystick commands received from a user device, and a second thread independently acquires video frames, performs object detection using a YOLO-based model, and transmits a video stream to the user device. In some embodiments, a mixing algorithm translates joystick commands into thruster control to support responsive teleoperation during concurrent perception processing. Figure 10
