MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511057090 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Roorkee on June 13, 2025, for Antenna Assembly For An Inflatable Space Antenna.
Inventors include Rastogi, Vikas; Upadhyay, Sanjay H; Singh, Kripa Shankar; and Sakhare, Sammir S.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: Examples of an antenna assembly (100) are described herein. In some examples, the antenna assembly (100) includes a tensioned membrane structure (102) having at least one deformation sensor (106) configured to monitor tension in the surface of membrane of the tensioned membrane structure (102), a torus-shaped support structure (104) disposed around at least a portion of the tensioned membrane structure (102), a plurality of connecting elements (108) connecting the tensioned membrane structure (102) to the torus-shaped support structure (104), a power supply system (112) operably coupled to the plurality of connecting elements (108) to selectively change dimension of each connecting element (108), and a control unit (110) in operable communication with the deformation sensor (106) and the power supply system (112). The torus-shaped support structure (104) is a mounting component to mount the tensioned membrane structure (102).
