Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to Apigenin phytosomal nanocarriers for targeted pulmonary drug delivery in asthma. The invention comprises Apigenin complexed with phospholipids to form nanosized phytosomal carriers exhibiting enhanced solubility, stability, bioavailability, pulmonary deposition, and sustained release properties. The nanocarriers possess particle sizes ranging from 80–300 nm and encapsulation efficiencies up to 95%. The formulation may be administered through dry powder inhalers, nebulizers, or metered-dose inhalers. Preclinical studies demonstrated significant reductions in airway inflammation, eosinophilic infiltration, mucus hypersecretion, and inflammatory cytokines. The invention provides an effective, safe, and targeted therapeutic strategy for asthma and related inflammatory pulmonary disorders while minimizing systemic side effects and improving patient compliance.
