MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621068991 A) filed by Sage University on June 02, 2026, for Apparatus And Method For Drug Interaction Detection.
Inventors include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Sapna Patel; Dr. Shantilal Singune; and Hrishikesh Rakesh Shrivastava.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure provides an apparatus (102) and a method for drug interaction detection in resource-constrained healthcare settings. A wireless transceiver (108) generates a hardware interrupt signal upon detection of a preamble synchronization pattern transmitted by a handheld barcode scanner (132), triggering a power state controller (104) to transition a removable storage device (106) from a sleep mode to an active mode. The removable storage device (106) stores a block-aligned interaction database and a block-aligned segmented audio library comprising phoneme-optimized audio segments indexed by block address. A hardware decoder (112) resolves a drug identifier against the block-aligned interaction database and outputs an interaction classification to a direct memory access controller (114), which executes concurrent transfer channels generating an audible vernacular drug interaction warning through a speaker transducer (118) within a deterministic latency window.
