Abstract: ABSTRACT An apparatus (100) for fail-safe autonomous aerial delivery systems of a payload provides layered redundancy for reliable payload delivery through a primary flight controller (102) and a physically isolated secondary flight controller (104). A hardware voting circuit (106), coupled to both controllers, continuously compares attitude estimates between the primary flight controller (102) and secondary flight controller (104), detecting divergence exceeding a predetermined threshold and switching motor control signals accordingly to maintain flight continuity. A watchdog timer circuit (108) monitors operational status of both controllers and generates an emergency descent trigger signal when both are non-operational for a predetermined period. Upon trigger, a payload release assembly (110) actuates to release the payload toward target coordinates. The hardware voting circuit (106) and watchdog timer circuit (108) together form a layered redundancy architecture, ensuring flight control continuity during single-controller failures and payload recovery during total system failure.
