Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to multi-spectral facial image acquisition. The apparatus (100) includes an optical assembly (102) with a dichroic mirror (106) and a second mirror (108) directing near-infrared and visible-light radiation toward a first image sensor (110) and a second image sensor (112) through a lens assembly (104). The arrangement delivers geometrically pre-aligned image data to both sensors concurrently. A field-programmable gate array (116) receives the pre- aligned near-infrared image data from the first image sensor (110) and produces depth measurements with deterministic latency independent of image content. Because the optical assembly (102) eliminates perspective misalignment between sensors, a perspective correction stage otherwise required in non-coaxial configurations is removed from the fixed hardware pipeline of the field-programmable gate array (116). The elimination directly enables the deterministic latency in depth measurement output, improving real-time facial imaging performance. FIG. 1
