The apparatus (126) includes at least one optical mirror (128) configured to receive an optical signal transmitted by a free-space optical transmitter unit (102) through free-space. Further, the apparatus includes an adjustable positioning mechanism (130) coupled to the at least one optical mirror (128) and configured to orient the optical mirror (128) to redirect the received optical signal along a non-line-of-sight propagation path toward a free-space optical receiver unit (134) when a direct line-of- sight path between the free-space optical transmitter unit and the free-space optical receiver unit is obstructed. Furthermore, the apparatus (126) includes a mounting structure (132) configured to support the at least one optical mirror and the adjustable positioning mechanism at a position to enable optical connectivity restoration under line-of-sight blockage conditions.
