Inventors include Dr. Prashant Jain; Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Pratibha Sharma; Aniket Mandal; and Aashi Vijayvargiya.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT An apparatus (102) for spray encapsulation of a microbial suspension comprises a first ultrasonic atomizer (104), a second ultrasonic atomizer (108), and a hardware processor (110). The first ultrasonic atomizer (104) at a base of a drying chamber (106) atomizes the microbial suspension into droplets. The second ultrasonic atomizer (108) above the first ultrasonic atomizer (104) nebulizes a cross-linking agent into a heated air stream to initiate gelation of the droplets in flight. The hardware processor (110) modulates atomization rates of both ultrasonic atomizers based on received temperature signals to maintain a predetermined ratio of the cross-linking agent to the microbial suspension. The hardware processor (110) regulates air stream temperature concurrently with in-flight gelation and transitions from a spray- drying phase to a coating phase upon a temperature differential reaching a predetermined range, maintaining viability of microorganisms upon oral delivery.
