Abstract: The present disclosure provides an apparatus (10) for controlled inhalation delivery of a medicinal composition (12). The apparatus (10) comprises a cartridge (18) configured to contain the medicinal composition; a heating chamber (20) including a thermally conductive member (22) configured to receive a predetermined quantity of the medicinal composition (12); a heating element (24) thermally coupled to the thermally conductive member (22); a sealed delivery passage (36) extending between the heating chamber (20) and an airway interface (34); and a controller (28) operatively connected to an activation mechanism (26), and the heating element (24). Upon actuation of the activation mechanism (26), the controller (28) actuates the heating element (24) according to a predetermined heating profile to volatilize the predetermined quantity for delivery through the sealed delivery passage (36) to the airway interface (34).
