Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR NON-INVASIVELY GENERATING A HAEMOGLOBIN SCREENING VALUE FROM TISSUE IMAGES A system (100) and a computer-implemented method (200) are disclosed for non-invasively generating an estimated haemoglobin screening value from a vascularised tissue surface of a subject using an image-capture device (110) having configurable acquisition parameters. A capture-control module (1212) sets and locks the configurable acquisition parameters to predetermined values during acquisition of one or more constrained-frame images, each comprising a target tissue region and an in-frame reference region. A constrained-capture interface module (1214) guides positioning of the target tissue region within a reduced field-of-view frame. A reference-normalisation module (1216) transforms colour values of the target tissue region with respect to the in-frame reference region to produce normalised tissue colour values invariant to the image-capture device (110) and illumination conditions. A feature-extraction module (1218) computes colour-pallor descriptors therefrom, and an estimation module (1210) maps the descriptors to generate the estimated haemoglobin screening value, reproducible across image-capture devices and illumination conditions.
