Abstract: The present invention discloses a digital twin-based predictive trajectory optimization system and method for electric vehicles operating in signalized traffic networks. The system comprises a real-world sensing and data acquisition layer, a state estimation and synchronization layer, a digital twin environment, a stochastic traffic modelling module, a predictive trajectory optimization layer, and a real-time speed advisory interface. The system acquires real-time vehicle telemetry and traffic signal information, preprocesses and temporally aligns the acquired data, and continuously synchronizes a virtual representation of the vehicle and surrounding traffic environment. Multiple candidate vehicle trajectories are generated and forward-simulated over a multi-intersection prediction horizon to evaluate travel time, energy consumption, and stop behaviour. An optimal trajectory is determined using a multi-objective optimization framework with optional reinforcement learning-based adaptive optimization.
