Abstract: The present invention relates to an Agentic Secure Software-Defined Networking (AS-SDN) system for real-time intrusion detection and mitigation. The system comprises a data plane with network nodes that generate and forward traffic, a feature extraction module for extracting flow-level attributes, and a hybrid machine learning engine using a support vector machine and AdaBoost classifier for real-time anomaly detection. An SDN controller (Ryu-based) is communicably coupled with OpenFlow-enabled switches to enforce flow rule updates. A mitigation module performs actions such as blocking, rerouting, or dropping malicious traffic based on classification outputs. A threat prevention module learns from historical attack data to dynamically update network policies, while a restoration module re-establishes legitimate traffic flows after mitigation. The system enables autonomous intrusion detection, rapid response, adaptive policy refinement, and seamless flow restoration with minimal human intervention, ensuring a self-defending and continuously evolving SDN security framework.
