Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a topical nanocarrier composition comprising a standardized phyto-extract of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) for treatment and management of alopecia and associated fungal scalp infections. The Ashwagandha extract is incorporated into a nanoscale delivery system, preferably nanostructured lipid carriers comprising a solid lipid, liquid lipid, surfactant, and aqueous phase. The extract may be standardized for withaferin A, withanolide A, total withanolides, withanosides, or related phytoconstituents. The nanocarrier enhances dispersion, stability, sustained release, scalp penetration, and follicular retention of the phytochemical constituents. The formulation is designed to reduce oxidative stress and inflammatory damage within the hair follicular microenvironment, improve dermal papilla cell viability, support anagen-associated hair growth, and suppress fungal microorganisms including Malassezia, Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Candida species. The nanocarrier may be incorporated into topical gels, serums, lotions, creams, sprays, or scalp tonics. The invention further provides a process for preparing said composition and its use as a multifunctional anti-alopecia, antifungal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory topical therapeutic system.
