Abstract: The present invention relates to an assistive cutlery device intended to facilitate independent self-feeding in stroke patients and individuals with neurological impairments affecting upper limb motor function. The device comprises an ergonomically designed adaptive handle configured to accommodate weakened grip strength and impaired hand control, a tremor-reducing stabilizer joint to minimize involuntary movements, and an angle-adjustable cutlery head that allows effective food intake with minimal wrist and forearm motion. The assistive cutlery device further includes interchangeable utensil heads selected from spoons, forks, and knives, a customizable grip system adaptable to varying hand sizes and functional limitations, and an optional forearm support or stabilization brace to enhance alignment and control during use. The structural configuration of the device enables improved orientation, balance, and stability of the utensil while eating. The invention reduces food spillage, decreases physical effort, and promotes safe and efficient feeding, thereby enhancing functional independence, supporting rehabilitation goals, and reducing caregiver assistance requirements. The device is suitable for use in clinical rehabilitation settings as well as in home-based care environments.
