MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641126368 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Ramapuram Campus; and Easwari Engineering College on October 23, 2026, for Astraos: An Ai-Assisted Autonomous Space Tracking, Response & Analysis Operating System For Intelligent Mission Control.
Inventors include Dr. Regin R; Dr. Rubin Bose S; and Sam Sundar J.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Abstract: Space mission operations require the operator to combine satellite state, orbital debris, conjunction conditions, spacecraft health, launch constraints, ground- station availability and space-weather context before selecting a response. AstraOS is a web-based mission-control prototype that integrates these views behind a common React/Vite client and a TypeScript/Express API. The system exposes eighteen application route paths spanning thirteen functional groups and implements satellite tracking, CelesTrak synchronization with a generated fallback registry, debris monitoring, collision-risk analysis, launch decision support, space-weather reporting, ground-station state, anomaly detection, satellite-health estimation, orbital-traffic analysis, bounded mission simulation and an AI mission copilot. The collision component uses transparent geometry and threshold rules to produce a probability-like score, risk class, time-to-encounter and maneuver/resource suggestions; anomaly and health components use deterministic simulator and heuristic logic; and the copilot can fall back to a local response generator when the configured Gemini service is unavailable. The disclosed work is therefore a decision-support and integration architecture rather than a certified conjunction-assessment or spacecraft- command system.
