MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109841 A) filed by Iimt College Of Management on September 13, 2026, for Augmented Brain-Computer Interface System And Method For Adaptive Neural Signal Decoding And Bidirectional Brain-Device Communication.

Inventors include Mr. Sachin Kumar; and Ms. Namita Tyagi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an artificial intelligence augmented brain-computer interface system (100) and method (200) for interpreting neural activity of a subject and facilitating interaction with one or more external devices (108). A neural signal acquisition device (102) acquires neural signals from a brain of the subject, and a processor (104) processes the acquired neural signals using instructions stored in a memory (106) to remove noise and artifacts, perform filtering, normalization, feature extraction, and segmentation. The processor (104) determines neural intent using an artificial intelligence model and generates a control signal corresponding to the neural intent for controlling an external device (108). The processor (104) further performs subject-specific model adaptation, local edge inference, and federated learning using subject-specific neural data. The system (100) further supports adaptive neurostimulation, speech output, and feedback-based subsequent neural signal processing.
