Abstract: Conventional traffic signal prioritization systems for emergency vehicles suffer from unauthorized signal activation, inadequate vehicle authentication, and delayed restoration of normal traffic operation. The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method and an authenticated emergency vehicle traffic signal prioritization system (200) comprising an emergency call center (202) configured to receive an emergency request and generate a dynamic machine-readable identification code, a central server/database (204) configured to store authentication information, a first detector unit (212) configured to detect and decode the displayed identification code, a traffic signal controller (214) configured to authenticate the approaching emergency vehicle and provide traffic signal priority, and a second detector unit (216) configured to detect vehicle passage and automatically restore normal traffic signal operation. The disclosed system enables secure emergency vehicle prioritization while minimizing disruption to regular traffic flow.
