MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521086231 A) filed by Pandit Deendayal Energy University on September 11, 2025, for Auto Shifting Mechanism For Preventing Bin Overloading In Fast Production Line.
Inventors include Dr. Garlapati Nagababu; and Mr. Kashyap Rathod.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses an automatic part shifting and collection mechanism for use in production lines to ensure continuous and efficient material handling. The system comprises a photoelectric sensor (1) for detecting incoming parts and a load cell (2) for monitoring bin weight in real time, enabling accurate assessment of bin capacity. A servo motor (11) actuates a guide arm (3) housed within a guide case (4) to redirect parts between a primary bin (7) and a secondary bin (8) based on control signals from a controller (9). The controller (9) processes inputs from the sensors (1),(2) and initiates bin switching when a predefined threshold is reached, thereby preventing overflow and eliminating manual intervention. A monitoring system (10) provides real-time status updates and allows user interaction. The mechanism is supported by a rigid base and includes an adjustable frame (6) to align with varying conveyor heights. The invention offers a cost-effective, compact, and reliable solution suitable for small and medium-scale industries, ensuring uninterrupted operation, improved accuracy, and enhanced productivity in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
