MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611058919 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University on May 08, 2026, for Automated Biodegradable Waste-Based Cast Membrane Production Device.

Abstract: An automated biodegradable waste-based cast membrane production device, comprising a housing 101 contains an iris lid 102 equipped with multi-sectioned chamber 103 storing organic biodegradable waste to dispense waste into a mixing container 104, an electronic valve 105 connected to a sodium hydroxide solution box 106 and heating elements 107 enable controlled delignification, an electronic nozzle 108 sequentially dispenses acetic acid, gelatine, starch, glycerol, and water to form a polymeric mixture, a motorized grinding unit 110 homogenizes the mixture into slurry, an air blower 111 provides partial drying, an electronic dispensing means 112 transfers slurry to a reservoir 113, an articulated bar 115 with motorized stirring unit 116 prevents sedimentation, an electronic spout 117 distributes slurry into mould 118, a Peltier unit 120 ensure controlled drying, a vibrating unit 121 assists demoulding, and an articulated pole 122 with suction cup 123 transfers the formed membrane to a tray 124.
