Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an automated waste segregation system (102) and method (400) for electronic waste segregation at the point of disposal are disclosed. The system (102) includes a sensor module (202), a routing mechanism (206) having a belt (206- 1), an actuator (206-2), and a motor (206-3), a controller (210), a communication unit (212), a power unit (214), a display unit (216), and a plurality of collection chambers (204). The controller (210) acquires image and sensor data, determines hazardous conditions, classifies the electronic waste article using an edge AI inference engine (302-4) with latency below two hundred milliseconds, generates a routing decision based on a classification confidence score, and actuates the routing mechanism (206) to direct the article into a selected collection chamber (204).
